A traditional tea in Japan made from the roasted stems and leaves of the tea plant Camellia Sinensis. Stems and leaves are harvested in late autumn frommeticulously chosen plants and dry roasted in cast iron cauldrons. In a complex procedure, the veins of the tea leaves are cut out and comprise the main ingredient of this marvellous tea. This process yields a a delicate tangy flavour and a fragrant aroma. Significantly lower in caffeine than tea leaves and buds because it is comprised of mainly twigs and stems. [GFL90808]
