This special green tea is produced in China's Yunnan province, and harvested from April to May. The curled tea leaves are hand-rolled into grey-white balls half an inch in diameter, which resemble clouds. A delicate infusion, more complex and layered than other Yunnan green teas. The appetisingly dry aroma evokes nasturciums.

Fourty four million people live in the southern province of Yunnan (meaning "south of the clouds", referring to the clouds that form above the Yunling Mountains) in China. Yunnan is blessed with major rivers, including the Yangtze and the Mekong that eventually flows down to Vietnam and Cambodia, and the province is home to some beautiful water landscapes, including Lake Erhai and Lake Lugu. Yunnan's natural richness is not just limited to its water features, and the area is the most biodiverse in China, ranging from a tropical climate to snowy mountains. Yunnan has over 15,000 plant species and over half of the bird and mammal species of China. [GSO154]
